The following, is intended as quickstart instructions only. For complete
HamCom instructions type "copy ham.doc prn:" at DOS prompt. Have printer ready.
IMPORTANT: Make a Copy of The Diskette and save Original for Backup.
1... after loading DOS in the usual way, insert HamCom disk in Drive A.
2... Type "HAMCOM" without the quotes.
3... What type of TNC are you using? Type answer.
4... What is your call? Type answer.
5... What is your selcall? (used in Amtor) Optional for PK232.
6... Which Comport, 1,2,3,4 for the TNC? Usually 1.
7... Are you using a Color Display? Y or N
8... Enter your CTEXT Your unattended message
9... Enter your BTEXT Your beacon text
10.. Which Drive for Default Enter default drive
11.. Baud Rate Between Computer and TNC 1200 is best
12.. Customized Packet ending enter ==> or anything
13.. Special Parms any addn'l parms
14.. Kenwood select screen 0,1, or 2
15.. If a Kenwood was selected, which comport 1,2,3 or 4
16.. Would you like a soft "Connect Bell" Y or N
17.. Is your primary output a Voice Synthesizer Y or N
Answer "Y" if you have "snow" on the screen.
18.. Do you want the incoming data to be logged Y or N
automatically to diskette?
19.. How many Users do you want on Packet 1..9

The first time that you run the program... Use option 1.. Reset TNC...after that
use Option 2..
There are Help Windows available to assist you at all times... Type Alt H.
The Help Windows explain themselves.
**** IMPORTANT.. IF YOU MAKE AN ERROR DURING THE SETUP PROCESS, YOU MUST
DELETE HAMPARM.* AND START OVER...
**** NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT USE WRITE PROTECT TAB ON YOUR WORKING DISK
HAMCOM NEEDS TO WRITE SEVERAL FILES TO THIS DISK.
